1.
In a world whose one attainment
is a polarised estrangement,
the axeman has his blade above our necks.
So it’s time for contemplating
on the strain of all this waiting,
which is driving our psychologies to wreck.
And it’s time to seek solutions
that will rid us from confusion,
and the hopes for a posterity protect.
2.
We have nations, we have rulers,
and if politics were cooler,
it’s a system that could feasibly endure.
But the battlefields get bigger,
while the fingers on the trigger
will be multiplied each decade by the score.
They may perpetrate the scandal
of extinguishing the candle
of this life in its entirety by war.
3.
When the nations that are feeble
voice the grievances of people,
then humanity at large feels no distress.
But when nations that are mighty
raise their voices only slightly,
then humanity awaits with bated breath.
And we’re all to be devoured
in their politics of power,
with humanity enamoured by its death.
Chorus.
If we can’t attain world-government,
in the end they’ll press the button,
which will instigate the holocaust,
and we’ll all be dead as mutton.
4.
When a bunch of politicians
claim the right to make decisions
which endanger other peoples than their own,
then the innocent shall muster,
having strength within the cluster,
to demand a wider tasting of the bone.
We must pulverise, and fully,
all this privilege of bullies
by dismantling these powers they have grown.
5.
We must force a fragmentation
on to each enormous nation
so that all of us be similar in size:
an identity resurging
for the regions thus emerging
from the days of old when statehood was devised.
And if each be represented
in a voice that’s independent,
an assembly made for equals is the prize.
6.
If the nations won’t surrender
all their sovereignty and splendour
into hands that could deliver them from strife,
then the world is but a bubble
that is causing too much trouble,
and deserving to be punctured by a knife.
So just listen to this chorus
where the choice is set before us,
and learn from it the lesson that gives life.
Chorus.
If we can’t attain world-government,
in the end they’ll press the button,
which will instigate the holocaust,
and we’ll all be dead as mutton.
