Despite my inexperience in love affairs,

when a pair are seeking to discover their blending of spirit,

we merit a degree of self-congratulation

for sagacious adjustment and willing compromise.

The size of our problems are still ill-defined,

and I'm mindful how much remains to be worked out

to show how we fit together as a couple -

troublesome for making accurate predictions.

I fix my attention on your worth as a human being,

and see clearly that the extra effort is required,

to acquire the missing motivating drive,

which deprives us now of the ultimate resolution.

We've gone so far, it would be such a shame

to throw it all away in silly games.
